Feet & balance / 1 min to explore
Meet your feet
This is an awareness and balance practice, not a test for a broken kinetic chain. Your feet sense the ground and help manage load. They deserve some attention of their own.

Give it a try.
- Sit with feet on the floor, or stand holding a stable counter. Comfortable shoes are fine.
- Notice three contact areas: your heel, the base of the big toe, and the base of the little toe.
- Let your toes relax and spread if they can. Gently shift a little forward and back without gripping the floor.
- If standing feels easy, keep your hand support and briefly lighten one foot. Return to both feet before switching sides.
What you might feel
Changing pressure under your feet and small adjustments around the ankles. Your arch can move; you do not need to hold it rigid or distribute pressure perfectly equally.
Make it easier
Stay seated. Explore pressure with both feet grounded and no balance challenge.
When you’re ready for more
Practice a brief supported single-leg stance, then gradually use less hand pressure. Add walking and calf raises to give your feet actual work to do.
Keep an eye on
Keep support within reach. With reduced foot sensation, diabetes-related foot problems, wounds, or a history of falls, get individualized advice and keep protective footwear on.
